Stella, Sophie and Karen are happy to be playing a set at this summer’s Nautical Days at the Comox Marina!!!  Come and sing along with us on Saturday, July 30th at 11:00 am!

Stella’s song, ‘I’m Not a Bunny,’ was entered in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition, and she has been selected as a semi-finalist!  Stella wrote the song by herself when she was just eight years old!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We hope that everyone is enjoying a fabulous beginning to 2016!  We are excited to be participating in Family Literacy Week again this year.  We will be doing a Library Tour, starting in Nanaimo at the Wellington Branch on Saturday, January 23rd at 2:00 p.m..

The following week, we will be hitting our local libraries with shows at 10:30 am on the 27th in Courtenay, the 28th in Comox, and the 29th in Cumberland.

We’ll have CDs to sell, stickers to give-away, and of course lots of LIVE MUSIC to share!

We hope to see you there!

Stella and her family traveled to Edmonton at the beginning of November for the Canadian Folk Music Awards and had an absolute blast!!!  Not only did we meet amazing musicians and perform to one of our favourite audiences EVER, our producer, Helen Austin, came home with the award for Best Ensemble of the Year for her band, Big Little Lions!!!  Congratulations Helen and Paul!

While we were in Victoria for Breakout West’s Western Canadian Music Awards, Stella was interviewed on the CBC by Sheryl MacKay, host of North by Northwest!

Stella and her family band will be playing at The Atrium (800 Yates St.)  in Victoria on Saturday, September 19th at 2pm as a part of Break Out West and the Western Canadian Music Awards.  Hope you can make it!

Stella and her family band were just nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award!  ‘I’m Not a Bunny,’ has been nominated for the Children’s Album of the Year!  We are so excited that the folks at CFMA thought that our album was worthy of such a nomination.  Here’s a shot of Stella and Romeo after they heard the good news!

Stella and her family band are so excited about their musical summer! It all starts tomorrow, when Stella and Sophie get to sing with Helen Austin and a group of fabulous kids at Vancouver Island Musicfest’s opening ceremonies.

Then we head to Bella Coola for their Music Festival and Strings workshop, and then it’s back to Comox for the Filberg Festival at the end of the month! We have more dates lined up for August, and they’re all listed under ‘dates’ on this website.

Last month, Stella and Sophie were delighted to meet Raffi at the Salt Spring Island market, so we thought we’d include a little photo for you!

We hope everyone gets out and enjoys some LIVE music this month!

We hope you can join us at the Prime Chophouse next Thursday, June 11th at 5pm!   We’ll be singing for the birds!  We’re helping MARS fundraise for their new location.
